Hello Pats fans!
I’d like to introduce you all to another one of my passions besides dancing and engineering. That passion is the theater. Not only have I been involved in the theater since I was about 5 years old, but I have also loved going to see Broadway shows in New York City since about the same age.
My mom, dad and grandparents were the first ones to get me involved by putting me in acting and singing classes. The company that my dad works for also does most of the lighting for Broadway shows, concerts, and even the Super Bowl half time shows. My family was always very lucky to have the opportunity to see shows and to also take many back stage tours. Taking classes, seeing behind-the-scenes, and watching the performances on stage all lead to my love of the theater.
To me, being on stage was always my way to be someone else for a little while and to experience how the character I was playing would actually feel. That part was really cool to me. I always loved stepping off stage and being myself again but during the performance, acting as if I was someone else really gave me great perspective of how other people may feel in different situations. I believe it made me a well-rounded young lady because I am able to put myself in other people’s shoes in real life.
If you haven’t gone to see a Broadway show yet, I would say make it an outing and get the full experience. It is something you will never forget. Cheers,Alyssa
