News Blitz 4/16: Alabama WR Kevin Norwood a good fit for Patriots?

Todd McShay of ESPN believes Alabama WR Kevin Norwood is a good fit for the Patriots in next month's NFL draft. Projected to be available in the middle rounds, Norwood led the Crimson Tide with 7 touchdown receptions last season.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports that the Patriots are showing interest in Colorado State center Weston Richburg, who is projected by NFL.com to be taken in rounds 3-4 of this year's NFL draft.

"The Patriots re-signed their starting center from the last two seasons, Ryan Wendell, to a two-year deal in March. But the expectation has been that Wendell can expect competition, and perhaps it will come in the form of Richburg," adds Reiss. READ MORE>>

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Patriots are one of six teams showing the most interest in drafting Missouri DE Michael Sam.

"The Ravens are among the teams that have displayed the most interest in Sam since the NFL scouting combine along with the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, according to league sources," writes Wilson. READ MORE>>

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report writes that Rob Gronkowski will "take his time and then take more time" in his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL, according to a source close to the Patriots star tight end.

"I'm told he might even take more time, and be more patient, than ever before," adds Freeman. "I'm not exactly sure when we'll see Gronkowski. I do know he'll be back when he's good and ready, and I'm not sure how anyone can fault that." READ MORE>>

Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald gives her analysis of Florida DT Dominique Easley, an immense talent who suffered two blown ACLs during his college career. Could the Patriots be interested in drafting him in the first round?
