Belichick in Boston for his charitable foundation

Posted Aug 20, 2014

The Patriots head coach welcomes hundreds of guests for a private event.

BOSTON – The setting could not have been more beautiful, not to mention historic. Under clear, blue skies, with live music and excited chatter filling the air on yet another perfectly comfortable summer night in New England, Bill Belichick hosted his first major fundraising event for his charitable foundation.

The inaugural “Hall of Fame Huddle” brought together several hundred guests at Boston Harbor Hotel, including former Patriots stars Tedy Bruschi and Troy Brown. Former Patriots QB Scott Zolak served as emcee of the event, proceeds from which benefitted The Bill Belichick Foundation.

Guests were treated to an exclusive panel discussion, moderated by the Patriots head coach himself, in which the gridiron greats shared stories and video highlights of their time working together in Foxborough toward Super Bowl stardom.

“Very excited about the start of the foundation,” Belichick said upon arriving at the Foster Pavilion, with its gorgeous views of the harbor. “Got a lot of support from a lot of great sponsors. I’m really looking forward to giving back to people participating in football and lacrosse – mentorship, leadership – to help underfunded programs to provide opportunities that I and my family have received… in two great sports.”

Belichick’s non-profit foundation was established last December in memory of the coach’s late father, Steve Belichick.
